About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to join an FTSE 250 International company specializing in components and sub-systems for the Aerospace, Defence and Energy markets.

Using your experience as a Trainee Accountant, you will undertake:

  • Coordinate activities and performs a variety of regular activities, including classifying, examining, recording and observing accounting transactions

  • Ensures all transactions and accounting records are included in the appropriate accounting period

  • Examines, analyses and interprets accounting records to prepare financial reports and statements

  • Preparation of monthly accounts, forecasts and budget packs

  • Completes assigned projects and analyses for a specific accounting or finance area

  • Maintains the databases, reports, records and control reconciliations necessary to support Finance Accounting and Control activities

  • Supports the internal and external audit process

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

What do we require?

You will have an Associate's degree or equivalent experience OR apprentice route.

We would also like you to have:

  • Level ½ of the accounting qualification
  • 0-1 year of experience in finance
  • Ability to understand and follow specific Group policies and procedures
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Building and maintaining customer/client relationships
  • Well-organized, conscientious and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
  • Previous experience working with financial accounting systems preferred
