Shift Patterns 7am - 3.30pm Mon - Thursday & 7am -2.30pm Friday

Purpose: Responsibility to undertake repair and overhaul activities on MRO products to the service and quality level expected of a world class support organization. To ensure that we satisfy customer orders and achieve our contracted turn around.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Undertake repair and overhaul across the complete MRO product range. Carry out appropriate repair schemes.
  • Operate equipment/machinery required to carry out repair, overhaul activities, and clean machinery used, and perform basic maintenance.
  • Adhere to company-wide health, safety and environmental policies and human factors procedures; including duty of care to others.
  • Responsibilities include use of various plant & equipment included, but not limited to:- pedestrian truck, blasting machines, cleaning machines (ultrasonic & water), steam cleaner & dryer, water & paint stripping tanks, air/electric tools (drills, riveters, grinders, planisher), hand tools (hammers, files, spanners etc), lathes, milling machine, drilling machine, tub grinder, test rigs, shop tooling. Use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Operate with care in stripping component assemblies. Inspect piece parts in accordance with component maintenance manuals provide detailed inspection/strip reports and spares requirement sheets.
  • Oversee work that has been carried out by other technicians.
  • Sign off & stamp the appropriate documentation for the work carried out.
  • The use of correct components and an ability to repair or replace as necessary and follow correct procedures is required.
  • Understanding is required of the importance of meeting customer expectations. Perform tasks largely in line with laid down procedures and prioritized workload. Care must be taken to ensure tasks are performed correctly.

General Requirements & Accountabilities

  • To attend and contribute to Daily Layered Accountability (DLA) meetings and to support the ongoing progression of MPS within a HPC environment.
  • Ability to work within, contribute to a team type approach of working, and participate in the continual improvement process essential for the ongoing development of the cell.
  • Verification of appropriate documentation to certify inspection / quality conformance of the product being processed & that the correct process technique was followed.
  • To maintain component traceability of parts throughout the manufacturing process & reporting of any documentation errors to supervision.
  • Responsible for the associated paperwork that supports the manufacturing documentation required for the product being processed.
  • To maintain good housekeeping and 6-S in the work area.
  • To ensure compliance with any regulations for the control of technical data (i.e. DFARS, ITAR etc).
  • Jobholder may be requested to train others on the tasks associated with this role.
  • 1 years similar experience in an engineering manufacturing/ Repair and overhaul facility making a similar product.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and CMM's.
  • The ability to use basic inspection equipment is essential.
  • An understanding of torque values and or equipment associated with the assembly process.
  • Knowledge of DATA acquisition testing systems & high pressure Air is desirable.
  • Knowledge of using hydraulic pressure test rigs & high-pressure air is desirable.
  • Flexibility and commitment required to help maintain E.A.S.A., F.A.A. and other customer approvals whilst delivering on MS&S commitments.
  • Care is required in the use of hand tools and other equipment used in accurate disassembly and assembly.
