This company is a world leading CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation) in the pharmaceutical industry employing almost 9,000 employees around the globe. Their comprehensive services cover the entire life cycle of a pharmaceutical product - from drug substance through to commercial manufacturing.

They are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Microbiologist with excellent industry knowledge to join their team at their Holmes Chapel site where they are embarking on a variety of pioneering and cutting-edge projects.

The Role:

The Senior Microbiologist will take responsibility for testing, reporting, and investigations within the microbiology laboratory ensuring the compliant, on-time delivery of products to market. You will need a specialist knowledge of the processes and regulations involved in this environment. As this is a senior role, prior microbiologist experience is essential.

What do you need for the role?

  • Previous experience as a Microbiologist
  • High-level expertise of Quality Control in GMP environment
  • Experience using the British Pharmacopoeia

Essential Knowledge required:

  • Environmental Monitoring of cleanrooms
    • Understanding of location determination and viable monitoring

  • Non-viable Monitoring
    • Experience with non-viable tests, understanding of cleanroom classification

  • Water Testing
    • Purified water system qualification

  • Product Testing
    • Routine product testing
    • Method validation work in line with pharmacopoeias


  • Degree educated in a related scientific discipline or equivalent experience

1 Salary includes 15% Shift Allowance + Shift-Handover Allowance.
