Title: Risk, Issues and Assumptions Manager

As a Risk & Assumptions Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, embedding and adherence to Defence Digital risk and assumptions management processes and ensuring risk management information is well documented, maintained and reported in line with requirements.
As part of a large, complex and diverse programme, the post holder will work closely with a range staff at different levels to identify, develop and deliver appropriate management information and processes. This role is key to helping identify, drive and embed risk and assumption management improvements as well as assisting with the preparation of information to support complex decision making, Approvals and client reporting.
This role will support the upskilling of project staff, both through organised training and at-desk support.
Monthly outputs:

  • An up-to-date risk registers
  • Risk review board reports
  • Up-to-date MDALs
  • Assumptions reports

Essential - Generic

  1. Proven track record of working effectively and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and building strong working relationship with team members.
  2. Experience in supporting other Project Controls disciplines (scheduling, reporting etc).

Essential - Risk

  1. Experience in developing robust risk registers and mitigation plans.
  2. Experience in applying a variety of risk identification techniques.
  3. Proven track record of maintaining and reporting on risk information.

Essential - Assumptions

  1. Experience of developing robust Master Data Assumptions List (MDAL)
  2. Experience of Assumption identification

Desirable - Generic

  1. A good awareness of National Security, Defence and the Armed Forces.
  2. Experience of working within the Defence Sector.
  3. Experience of ISO 44001

Desirable - Risk

  1. Experience of supply chain risk management
  2. Experience of developing risk management training
  3. Risk Management Qualification i.e. APM, IRM, PMI

Desirable - Assumptions

  1. Use of ABCD methodology for impact and confidence assessment
  2. Awareness of Cost Data Assumption List (CDAL)
  3. Experience of developing and delivering assumption management training
