Location - London/Sheffield
Daily rate - £522/day PAYE £670/day Umbrella
Start date - ASAP
Contract - 3 Months (to be extended by further 12 months)

Our financial services client is currently seeking a Tech focused Project Manager to join their team as part of natural growth within the department. Ops Technology is a large team within the organisation covering a number of functional areas. The entire programme has a budget of c.£120m made up of both RTB and CTB. Project Leads are involved at all stages of the project lifecycle, from change initiation, design and delivery, through to benefits realisation and will support more senior project managers. This role will require a lot of Matrix management with in-market Developers and Project Managers as well as portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Influencing the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes
  • Driving project delivery proactively, balancing planning, scope, schedule, budget, communications and risks
  • Managing and planning resources, responsibilities and schedules
  • Establishing effective project controls and procedures and quality assurance processes
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project or programme leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making, in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Providing management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
  • Driving the adoption of HSBC project standards and working in alignment with HSBC project methodology at all times
  • Leading the team to meet performance targets aligned to objectives

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of IT Projects in a large complex environment
  • Financial Forecasting experience (Budgeting, Tracking against forecast etc)
  • Familiarity with portfolio management
  • 3-4 years experince as an IT Project Manager
  • Strong stakeholder management and communications skills
  • Experience of working at an operational level in international environments which drive a true international perspective;
  • Experience in managing individuals in different geographies
  • Leadership skills needed for managing a team of specialists;
  • Experience in creating and reviewing executive reports (up to board level)
  • Experience in dealing with Senior Management, internal and external audit
  • Experience in dealing with senior management, business and wide array of global stakeholders
  • Team-oriented mentality combined with ability to complete tasks independently to a high quality standard
  • Experience within fast-moving, complex and demanding corporate environments
  • Financial Services experience (nice to have)
  • Mortgage/Cards experince (nice to have)
  • Experince with lending
