Process Engineer

Duration: 12 months

Pay: £18.00 - £20.50 per hour PAYE

Location - Cardiff On-Site

You will be working for a global provider of technologies and services that advance and accelerate the development and manufacture of therapeutics.

What you'll do

  • Providing Knowledge and technical capabilities in design engineering, measurement testing for tolerance confirmation, specification definition, conversion of outputs to CAD and 3D CAD models through tools such as SolidWorks, practical development through eg 3D prototyping and finishing, other material handing tools and device testing.
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams and external customers to develop Process Validation and design transfer protocols and participate in manufacturing transfer, efficiency and reliability.
  • Complying with safety practices, ensuring that all work is assessed and conducted in a safe manner, within Company and statutory requirements and regulations
  • Providing support to, and working collaboratively with, Supply Chain, Project management, Product Management and Quality personnel in the formation of product requirement specifications that ensure customer satisfaction (especially in field of laboratory filtration).
  • Providing support to and working collaboratively with Sourcing, Supplier quality engineering in raw material performance managing, supplier audit via acting as technical expert.
  • Applying working knowledge / understanding of device manufacturing process such as injection moulding and materials, Advanced manufacturing and automated production line needs
  • Technical writing of reports, publications and product support materials to agreed time-lines
  • Internal (project reviews to key stakeholders) and external (scientific meetings), oral and poster presentation of project results.


Who you are

  • Bachelor's Degree (hrs) in Mechanical or Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, Chemistry or similar technical background.
  • Hold Installation, Process and Operations qualifications.
  • Experienced in on boarding of new equipment to a manufacturing line.
  • Experience designing and manufacturing prototype solutions.
  • Demonstrated team working and scientific coordination/leadership skills.
  • Rigorous thinking, self-motivated, eager to learning new knowledge, able to work independent.
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Prior experience of plastic engineering or injection moulding.
  • Prior experience of additive (3D) manufacturing technology Experience of direct customer interaction on technical and product performance challenges.
  • Technical writing of reports, publications and product support materials to agreed time-lines.
  • Prior experience of plastic engineering or injection moulding.
