IT Programme/Project Manager

Malvern - Hybrid working

£600 per day - Umbrella

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for working with the business to understand upcoming Mission IT requirements, ensure that stakeholders are managed appropriately, help remove blockers / risks to delivery and manage a team of likeminded professionals in this space.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the demand process by providing insights into portfolio delivery across the group
  • Supporting the team to develop both a strategic and a deliverable roadmap for the portfolio, including identification of key dependencies and risks
  • Supporting the delivery of solutions by providing guidance and insights into programme and project management approaches
  • Interact and engage with business stakeholders and IT Functions across the business, to ensure a smooth delivery of the portfolio
  • Be able to guide others in resolving complex issues to minimise disruption to the business operation.
  • Ensuring that the delivery of all services provided by these platforms met expectations of the business, whilst complying with internal governance.
  • Champion and Monitor consistent technical operation best practice across the organisation and is accountable for ensuring that accurate performance information is readily available and can be used to make informed business decisions.

Key Capabilities

  • Significant knowledge of managing and maintain a Mission IT portfolio, across Public, Private and Hybrid sectors.
  • Significant knowledge in organisational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Knowledge of business management principles and practices, including financial best practices.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data with strong attention to detail in order to make informed decisions regarding operational efficiency.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across various positions and levels.

Key Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a business unit.
  • Managing range of complex projects.
  • Qualification in operational management standards such as Six Sigma or has a strong working. knowledge of equivalent frameworks.
  • Experience of working across diverse services, products and business.
  • Extensive experience of driving operational excellence across existing delivery teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
