Interface Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: £70 - £80 an hour Umbrella - Inside IR35
Location: Devonport, Plymouth - Onsite 5 days a week
Our clients project is responsible for the generation of new capability to support the Astute Class submarine whist the vessel is at Devonport Dockyard. The works provides new mooring options within 5 Basin which interface with existing infrastructure. There is a slant towards marine based civils and electrical engineering.
The Position
The post in question will support the identification, management and agreement of internal and external interfaces for the project. Internal interfaces will include items such as support to the Jacobs design house. External interfaces to include items such as where the boundary of the project connects with the main Devonport infrastructure.
Experienced Required
Individuals require a good understanding of requirements management along with an appreciation of systems engineering. Applicants should be able to navigate DOORS. They should both understand and have experience in the management of technical interfaces across a range of disciplines throughout the design lifecycle.
Experience of operating within Nuclear Licenced site or other "high-risk" environments such as oil and gas required. Ideally staff would have worked in and around the maritime environment, but this is not essential.
An ability to manage stakeholders and gain consensus with a range of different wants and needs is key.
Also, have a working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications
Desirable skills ;
- Experience of working in BIM environments.
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
