My client is a leading British technology company and truck manufacturer, best known for its zero-emission Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell range-extended vehicles. This is your chance to make your mark in the Hardware Engineer Team early in on the company's development, taking ownership of your own work and use your expertise to achieve personal and business goals.

The Role:

Designing PCB and Microcontroller Hardware systems, processes, methodologies as well as component and vehicle design to enhance the overall vehicle performance. Transforming concepts into prototypes for HIL testing, validating and improvement for ultimately mass volume production. This includes designing to meet costs, timing, and quality requirements.
You would be responsible for ensuring the success of the design from inception through to delivery into manufacture, using innovative engineering skills to ensure seamless integration. This very hands-on position, demanding high levels of creativity and flexibility. You must be able to work on multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative and original solutions. Working mostly independently, results are key to successful completion of major projects/programmes.
Requirements:

  • Relevant engineering degree is preferred or equivalent - most likely E&E
  • Experience of Electronic Systems Hardware design is essential
  • Experience of Embedded Software is an advantage
  • Knowledge of ISO26262 or IEC61508
  • Extensive work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
  • Experience of Embedded Software is a distinct advantage but not essential
  • Consistently demonstrates extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity, and creativity.
  • PCB layout capability
