Are you a meticulous financial professional ready to make an impact in the insurance industry? We're seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our growing team and play a key role in our financial operations.

Role Overview:

As a Financial Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of our financial processes within the insurance sector. Your role will involve a diverse range of financial activities, from reconciling accounts to participating in regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Close Functions:
    • Execute quarterly accounting close processes in adherence to accounting policies.
  1. Regulatory Reporting:
    • Play a vital role in the production of regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and Solvency II standards.
  1. Lloyd's Reporting:
    • Take an active role in completing Lloyd's reporting requirements, including QMA, QMB, GQD, and statutory accounts for S2012 & S1955.
  1. Solvency II Reporting:
    • Provide essential assistance in the completion of Solvency II reporting, including QSR, ASR reporting for S2012, S1955 & AIUK.
  1. Account Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile general ledger to financial reporting databases, maintaining accuracy and integrity.
  1. Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Reserving Actuaries, Reinsurance, and other Finance functions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related fields.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (Full/Part Qualified).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial accounting role within the Lloyd's Syndicate or insurance industry.

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements, GAAP, and Statutory Accounting Principles.
  • Familiarity with Lloyd's and other UK regulatory reporting for specialty insurance.
  • Solid understanding of month-end close processes and account analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, including complex functions.
