My client is a leading British technology company and truck manufacturer, best known for its zero-emission Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell range-extended vehicles. This is an organisation that creates technology because it matters and makes a difference to humanity. They are moving the world towards a better way of transporting everything to everyone. With government and private investment backing, this company is now 8 years old and in full swing of manufacturing electrical trucks, with exceptional growth plans.
We are looking for a proactive individual with a "can-do" attitude who has a strong and proven ability to work under pressure. This exciting opportunity means you would make your mark in the facilities department early in on the company's development, taking ownership of your work and using your expertise to achieve personal and business goals.
The Role:
You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the facilities department as directed by the Facilities Manager. Including but not limited to key deliverables, safety performance, and cost target. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate experience of working at a highly effective level across multiple areas of the business.
Your daily tasks will include leading the development of the Civil, Mechanical and Facilities Standards and Procedures. As well as focusing on the design and development of Civil, Mechanical and Facilities ensuring all aspects and requirements support prototype build, vehicle design facilities, manufacturing requirements and specifications.
You must contribute to the technical knowledge database for use in future program planning.
Also, technically lead, coaching and support for major issue resolution in operations (as necessary). While keeping on top of the development of the standardised estimating database and consistent application of project tracking tools against program delivery gateways. This will provide support for customer plants worldwide as required in respect to safety improvements, quality improvement, cost reduction opportunities and delivery.
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience within a manufacturing environment including experience in Mechanical, Civil, Facilities Engineering, offloading of machinery and equipment, installation of service to support manufacturing operations is preferred but is not essential.
Applicants will have a relevant degree or have the relevant knowledge, skills, training, and experience to fulfil the role. Studying towards a relevant degree will be considered positively. Also, a good working knowledge of CAD/ 3D modelling to review OEM submitted drawing would be an advantage.
You will be expected to lead the development of functional strategies for the section. A collaborative approach, working both internal and external with the team, will be essential to achieving this objective.
The position demands enthusiasm and good command in all forms of communication, particularly audio conferencing, and Teams to facilitate collaborative working with colleagues, vendors and contractors in remote locations around Europe.
