Manufacturing / Engineering Trainer
Location: Gloucester
Duration: End of 2022 - Extension possible or even permanent for the right candidate
Rate: £37 per hour - Umbrella

Summary:

My client is looking for an experienced Trainer to provide management, delivery and assessment of manufacturing, repair and process related training across the companies Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and Repair and Overhaul (R&O) businesses. The successful candidate will perhaps have come from an engineering or manufacturing background and then moved into a training / mentoring role.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Training, Coaching and Assessing of manufacturing, repair and assembly staff in line with all relevant specifications and documentation
  • Maintain and develop training / quality records for regulatory audit
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programmes to introduce changes to process, tooling or documentation, through change control and stakeholder communication
  • Coach and mentor Apprentices on the business apprenticeship programmes, providing a point of contact for an apprentice cohort and leading in-business training plans / rotations
  • Support the business with technical training programmes and one-off training solutions
  • Support the wider business with participation in scheduled process audits, quality monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Provide subject matter advice to operations to assist with solutions to recover stoppages in blade manufacture and repair, ensuring any breaks in operation are kept to a minimum
  • Planning and monitoring for gaps in training capability across operations, proactively working to prevent training gaps affecting operational productivity
  • Advise all business functions as a Subject Matter Expert on process, competence and skills during process reviews, lean / continuous improvement and quality reviews
  • Co-ordinate cross business training needs to ensure value for money and deliver cost-out efficiencies through reducing multiple external training bookings

Qualification / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) plus proven experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of processes in Aviation OEM and / or R&O
  • Working knowledge of a range of manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Working knowledge of technical specifications, drawings and controlled documentation
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and IT skills
  • Experience in mentoring / coaching
