Rate: £350 a day PAYE

Location: Coventry - Hybrid working - 2 days on site

Our client who produces components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets is looking for a Commercial Manager to join their team till the end of the year. The Commercial Manager oversees the customer facing contract and agreement processes for a specific product group within the UK.

The Role

Duties include preparing contractual agreements and providing commercial related advice; drafting and reviewing contractual documentation and negotiating agreements in accordance with corporate policy and applicable legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides commercial advice and support to the business.
  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for assigned customer commercial and contractual relationships.
  • Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to business leadership team.
  • Oversees the bid teams responses to RFI's or RFP's, including responsibility for management and compliance of the BAR process and obtaining all necessary internal approvals.
  • Ensures that dissemination of agreements and contract closedown/exit activities are completed within expected timelines
  • Monitors and analyses the administration of contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies and reports on performance; supporting Programme Management and Customer Account Management functions.
  • Drafts, reviews and negotiates commercial documents such as NDA's and Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Ensures contract management system records are maintained and accurate.
  • Drafts and negotiates contract amendments.
  • Assists / lead in contract closedown/exit activities.
  • Provides support, training and mentorship to other business functions.
  • Other responsibilities/tasks as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Able to anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make recommendations
  • A background in aviation would be desirable but not essential
