About Your Opportunity:

The role is working within the Supply Chain team carrying out core operational activities to support the Northrop Grumman NSS Supply Chain processes. Working as an integral part of the team, and in accordance with the published procedures, you will be responsible for assisting in the sourcing and scheduling of materials and services against programs and indirect categories, ensuring customer expectations are met. You will work with other members of the team to support strategic activities, collaborate with 3rd parties and help develop ways of working through continuous improvement exercises and operation delivery such as demand forecasting, PO management, materials sourcing, scheduling and inventory management.

Your Responsibilities:

Monitor purchase orders/sub-contracts for compliance with contracted delivery schedules. Ensure necessary amendments are made in a timely fashion and reported appropriately.
Receive and acknowledge Supplier acknowledgements of accepted orders/contracts
Undertake supplier negotiations for incl. price, schedule and terms and conditions, delivering best value for money and ensuring on time and on budget requirements (schedule / quality) in accordance with the Programme structure
Evaluate suppliers proposals against objective criteria to recommend those offering maximum compliance against requirements at best value
Onboard new suppliers as required ensuring appropriate due diligence, in line with procedures, is performed and recorded
Oversee the success of the Helpdesk and operational function to ensure efficient and effective delivery of operational supply chain activities.
Understand and conform to Northrop Grumman's ethical policies, Standards of Business Conduct and quality management policies and procedures
Carry out other ad-hoc tasks within the team that may reasonably be required.
Your Experience:

Capable of identifying issues and supporting the development of resolution.
Good attention to detail
Organised, adept at workload management and prioritising appropriately to meet deadlines
Good interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with all audiences/stakeholders
Proficient user of MS office
Engaging 'can do' attitude
Proactive team member with good interpersonal skills
Flexible approach and willingness to challenge, learn and improve
Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
IT literacy especially Microsoft Office suite applications.
Evidence of sound commercial awareness from work experience or education
Must be willing to travel on an occasional basis to attend multiple geographic locations within the UK
Valid UK Passport and driving license
Willing to undertake security clearance
Content to work in Defence & Security sectors.
Strong numeracy, administrative and organisational skills
Excellent oral and written communication with good accuracy and attention to detail
Basic awareness of contracts
Purchase order drafting
Understanding of how supply chain operates within an organisation
Understanding of Buying/Purchase Order/contract/subcontract management
