Daily rate - £550/day PAYE £705/day Umbrella
Start date - ASAP
Contract - 12 Months

Our financial services client is currently seeking a Business Manager to join their team in London. This role is situated within the Group Data Technology COO function and will be supporting the GDT and Technology Architecture Operations Director and CIO of Group Data Technology as well as working closely with GDT and Technology Architecture Finance Lead.

Business Administration & Operational Management (BM) will lead or take ownership of business activities, supporting Leadership positions and Business Heads with non-BAU activities, cyclical work pieces such as Annual Reporting and short term initiatives. They are located in BAU teams and would report to a Global, Regional, Country or Business Head and may have direct reports. The BM plays an important part in supporting Group Data Technology in achieving its deliverables, while at the same time managing costs to meet the budget. This job is not client facing and does not have any portfolios, however at times require liaison with vendors.


Those employees fulfilling a Business Administration & Operational Management role are expected to possess knowledge of financial budgeting/forecasting/cost management, strategic planning, communication, and people management processes in the context of the business area they are located in, but are not expected to have specific product knowledge relating to the business or function in which they are located.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and the execution of business initiatives and activities in support of business area aims
  • Participate in business planning activities which may include financial, technological and resource planning
  • Facilitate & support senior management decision making by the use of management information, performance information, analytics, forums, stakeholder feedback and HSBC strategy
  • Responsible for accurate forecast at regional and global level in IT COO systems, commentary for forecast variances
  • Participation in forums and committees to represent view of business area
  • Participation in devising and monitoring of internal governance activities
  • Investigating and seeking remedies for discrete issues which may be adversely affecting business unit performance
  • Working with external service providers to manage or evaluate their provision, monitor their performance and ensure service level agreements are honoured
  • Support Annual Operating Plan and other planning activities



Key Requirements:

  • Workforce management and planning experience
  • AOP (Annual Operating Plan) experience
  • 5-10 years of experience required
  • Experience in Business Management
  • Operational experience
  • Experience of OPCO's - Operational Committee's
  • Good understanding/knowledge of finance processes
  • Knowledge of financial budgeting and strategic planning
  • Experience working in a global team with multiple geographies, ability to work well with people in different locations
  • Understanding of cost allocation
  • Strong communication skills, abality to summarise findings and proposed solutions in a clear way
